#FF: @PIOGA4PA

[vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]This week, we’re featuring @PIOGA4PA, the Twitter handle belonging to Pennsylvania’s Independent Oil & Gas Association (PIOGA) as our Twitter #FF. PIOGA is the largest, oldest trade organization in Pennsylvania representing the oil and gas industry. With more than 1,000 members companies, PIOGA is one united voice for the industry.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Here’s why: [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]We follow @PIOGA4PA because they use hashtags that we can easily follow, such as #energy and #shalegas. If you aren’t familiar with Twitter, hashtags (symbolized by the pound sign) provide a topic-based link among Twitter users from all over the world. When @PIOGA4PA tweets with the tag #shalegas, we can follow that tag to find others who are tweeting about the same thing. Cool, right?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The PIOGA handle is also great because they tweet out articles from Pennsylvania newspapers such as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Citizens Voice. Pressing oil and gas news is always interesting to us, but is even more so when it’s local. Though they tweet some country-wide industry news, PIOGA really is “4” Pa.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]@PIOGA4PA is great for the warm-your-heart tweets about natural gas benefits that we all know and love. They tweet the facts, and the fact is that natural gas is boosting Pennsylvania and the nation in a number of ways. PIOGA reminds us of this every day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Q & A with @PIOGA4PA:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]We spoke with Stephanie Paluda, Public Outreach Coordinator for PIOGA and the voice of the company’s Twitter presence and she took the time to answer some questions for us.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Q: For how long has the account you represent been tweeting? We’ve been tweeting for a little over a year. Q: Why did PIOGA decide to use Twitter as a communication tool? While most of our efforts focus on our members and most of our information is for member distribution only, our Twitter account serves to distribute information about the oil and gas industry to not only the oil and gas industry, but the general public as well. Q: Has PIOGA’s Twitter helped you to connect with other natural gas leaders and industry professionals?Absolutely! I find it most beneficial to follow someone on Twitter to see what their area of expertise is and then add them on LinkedIn to further connect with them. Q: Anything else that you’d like to add?Follow us on Twitter! You can always ask me questions and I can find the information and tweet you back! [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Alright readers, you heard it from PIOGA themselves. Follow them on Twitter and be sure to read next week’s blog to see who makes our #FF list.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
