[vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]In the event you hadn’t noticed the dozens of political ads all over the television, radio airways and internet recently, this is an election year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Don’t worry, we’re not about to get all political on you, but we do want to share the message of a great campaign called Vote4Energy. A project of the American Petroleum Institute, Vote4Energy is not about endorsing a specific candidate but instead encouraging voters to gather information and start a conversation about all forms of domestic energy. From natural gas to renewable resources to nuclear power, the campaign asserts that American citizens should help frame the way politicians view their energy policies that will help shape the country. From their website:
A Vote4Energy is not a vote for a person, or a party, or even a philosophy, but rather, it is a vote for America and its future. We are an energy-rich nation. We have more oil and natural gas than anyone thought possible even 20 years ago: more potential energy than many oil-exporting nations in the Mideast, and more than most countries in the world. When we look at all our domestic energy options – fossil fuels, nuclear energy, renewable and alternative energy sources such as biofuels – we see a nation with an abundance of opportunity for growth.
The Vote4Energy website has some great statistics, news articles and an interactive piece for each state discussing the available energy options.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]For example, here’s a small excerpt for Pennsylvania:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image css_animation=”” image=”1279″ border_color=”” img_link_large=”” link=”http://vote4energy.org/state-impact/pa/” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Vote4Energy also organizes events across the country, and yesterday Cabot attended a Vote4Energy rally in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Williamsport is home to the annual Little League World Series which brings thousands of families to the area (the record attendance for a single game is 41,848) for the nearly two week-long event.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The highlight of the opening ceremony, the Grand Slam Parade, which draws crowds in excess of one hundred thousands, became the perfect venue to educate patrons on domestic natural gas. Participants in this Vote4Energy rally included Pennsylvania’s Independent Oil & Gas Operators Association, Chesapeake Energy, and of course Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]As a huge supporter of domestic natural gas, Cabot brought one of its bi-fuel Chevy 1500 Silverado’s to display. This vehicle, which runs on gasoline or CNG is the back bone of Cabot’s operations here in Pennsylvania. At roughly $.70 a gallon and much cleaner for the environment, Cabot believes every opportunity to show off our CNG fleet and its benefits is important.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image css_animation=”” image=”1281″ border_color=”” img_link_large=”” link=”http://cabotsusq.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/cabot-truck.png” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image css_animation=”” image=”1282″ border_color=”” img_link_large=”” link=”http://cabotsusq.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/542477_357737984301440_1689367115_n.jpg” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image css_animation=”” image=”1283″ border_color=”” img_link_large=”” link=”http://cabotsusq.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/418705_357737390968166_1614156704_n.jpg” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Head over to the EID Marcellus Facebook page to check out more great photos from the event![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The LLWS Vote4Energy Rally was a wonderful opportunity to help raise awareness of the wide variety of energy options that are out there for use.
