Upcoming Event: Energy Night at the Ballpark

Hot dogs, cold beverages, home runs and…natural gas!

On Thursday, July 18 at 7:05 pm, friends, family and neighbors of the energy industry will once again join baseball fans at PNC Field in Lackawanna County for Energy Night.

Cabot, in partnership with Williams, Lackawanna College, Southwestern Energy, Kenworth, PTW Energy Services, Cleveland Brothers, and Diaz Companies, will celebrate the energy industry and promote the plentiful jobs available with food, games and fellowship prior to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders’ game against the Columbus Clippers.

Proceeds Benefit a Good Cause

Special tickets for the event ate $35 which includes an all-you-can-eat buffet. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Energy Education Fund.

The Energy Education Fund is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to students and teachers to grow a future workforce and interest in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) related to the energy industry using the MOLU (Mobile Oilfield Learning Unit).

Read about the MOLU in a recent publication by the PA Chamber of Business & Industry.

Natural Gas & Baseball

The relationship between America’s pastime and energy is a fitting theme for the evening — nearly every part of the game is touched by natural gas and natural gas byproducts, from the game baseballs, equipment, fertilizers for the field, and gas-fired electric generation to power stadium lights and snack stands.
