Continuing Hunters Sharing the Harvest

Monday officially marked the beginning of deer season in Pennsylvania and with that, thousands of people across the Commonwealth embark on another hunt.

Once again, we want to highlight a program that is important to us here at Cabot. Since 2013, Cabot has sponsored the Hunters Sharing the Harvest (HSH) initiative (now in its 27th season) which coordinates the processing and distribution of donated wild game to hungry people throughout Pennsylvania. An average-sized deer will provide enough highly-nutritious, low-cholesterol meat for 200 meals! This sportsmen-inspired community service outreach effectively channels venison product via an integrated network of approved deer processors and food banks.

If you get a deer this hunting season, please consider donating the meat to assist those in need!

Not a hunter? You can help offset the cost of processing a deer by donating here.
