Hunters Sharing the Harvest: Fighting hunger in Pennsylvania

Monday marked the beginning of deer hunting season in Pennsylvania as folks from across the Commonwealth headed off to their favorite hunting spots. We have highlighted the organization Hunters Sharing the Harvest (HSH) in the past, and this year marks some significant milestones for the organization: the 25th anniversary and more than 1 million pounds of venison donated to food banks to help feed hungry Pennsylvanians.

Did you know 1.8 million Pennsylvanians are in need of food assistance? The venison donated through HSH provides a much needed protein source to food banks across the Commonwealth.

Help us spread the word about this organization and please consider donating your deer to assist those in need. Here’s information how to donate your deer. Not a hunter? You can help offset the cost of processing a deer by donating here.hsh
