Friends and Families Honoring Veterans hosts largest event to date

[vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Yesterday we celebrated Veterans Day and thousands of events were held across the country honoring veterans for their service and dedication. Last night one such event was held Wyoming County, West Virginia by the Friends and Families Honoring Veterans and provided more than 100 veterans and their families an evening of good food and great entertainment.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]This year, Darrell Cline, Compressor Foreman in Cabot’s Pineville, WV office attended the event to show support. Darrell is a veteran himself having served from 1987-1995 in the Navy Reserve. Cabot sponsored the event for a second year and we were excited to hear just how much the event had grown from the previous year.

Each veteran was welcomed to the event then had the opportunity to take photo with themselves and their families.

The duo have been singing together for decades and have recently released a new CD, which all of the veterans in attendance received for free.

It was an honor as a veteran myself to represent Cabot at this event.  It is good to see the community supporting and honoring the veterans. I am sure the veterans appreciate this support as it seems many times that their service was and is taken for granted.

Here are some additional photos from the event:

We are thankful for the service of all of the military men and women across the country. One day is not enough to truly honor all of the sacrifices they have made for our freedom, but hopefully the veterans in southern West Virginia enjoyed an evening with their families and listening to some great tunes. Congratulations to all of the volunteers with Friends and Family Honoring Veterans who organized such a successful event![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
