Last Wednesday, Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation was honored, for the second year in a row, for the United Way of Allegheny County Outstanding Campaign Performance Award.

A Thank You luncheon was held in the ballroom of the Westin Hotel. The room packed with supporters listening to stories, and awaiting the presentation that revealed the total money raised during the campaign.

The campaign total soared to $33,211,190, which is a 2.7% increase from last year’s total.

Cabot’s employees raised $18,798 (a 56% increase from last year) and corporate giving increased to match, leading the total of the donation to $37,596.

The money raised during the annual campaign is used for various programs throughout the county such as 21 and Able, Allies for Children, United for Women and many more.

Cabot was also acknowledged for being one of the top 100 campaigns (total dollars raised).

Cabot’s campaign manager, Deb Larkin, aimed to increase employee participation. With more employees, and the corporations promise to match every dollar raised, her goal was reachable.

The campaign was kicked off with an employee information session and pizza party, which got the numbers to jump; in participants and dollars.

Cabot’s Leadership Givers, members of the team who donated $1,000 or more, also increased from four to nine.

Steelers President, Art Rooney II, was also recognized at the luncheon shortly after stepping down from his admirable, record setting six years as the Chair of the United Way Board of Directors.

And former Steelers quarterback, Charlie Batch was honored as the Volunteer of the year.
