Why it’s important not to go onto Cabot locations without permission

[vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Just a few points on why we strongly discourage anyone from coming onto our sites – from drilling locations to producing pad sites to water impoundments – without first obtaining permission from Cabot and being accompanied by Cabot personnel:

  • [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image css_animation=”” image=”5501″ border_color=”” img_link_large=”” link=”https://wellsaidcabot.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Lackawanna-Tour-of-Locations.png” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]It’s for your own safety. You wouldn’t ever consider walking into the middle of a construction area without proper notice protective equipment and just start picking items up, right? The same logic needs to apply here. All of our locations are active and all are work zones. You need to have proper training and equipment to be on our locations.
  • How do you even know what you’re touring? Unless you are a trained professional currently working in our industry, you will not have much of an idea of all of the operations you are seeing on location. Each site is unique and constantly operating which means that only a professional who is familiar with it can really walk you through what is happening. Plus, most of the time these professionals are working on their specified task which makes scheduling tours in advance important so that we can make these individuals available to you.
  • You’d technically be trespassing on our locations. Cabot’s lease agreements allow ownership rights to anything that we build. Which means being on any of the pad sites or access roads without an escort is technically considered trespassing. Avoid any issues with the authorities or security by setting up an official tour. It’s easy to do and ensures that you can safely, legally get on a location for a tour.
  • We give official tours all the time – you just have to ask. Part of our outreach strategy is to allow people to come onto location with proper equipment and show them what natural gas extraction is all about. You can send us an email via the Contact Us page or use the Ask Cabot feature. We try and accommodate as many people as possible given our schedule, so advanced notice is always best.
  • Approved tours come back with tons of swag. From informational pamphlets to pens to binders – you never know what you may get when you come on a tour with us. And no matter what, you’ll leave our tours with a deeper knowledge of the natural gas industry than when you left. Guaranteed.
  • George Stark and Bill desRosiers give one heck of a tour. I’m not just saying that to be biased. Our operations are always moving which means that no two tours will ever be exactly the same. What was being drilled last month might be producing next month as each location goes from bare pad site to a producing pad. George and Bill give interactive tours that focus on the aspects YOU want to learn more about and you’ll never get a “by the script” tour. Listen to what they have to say about our operations, ask questions, and mold your own experience.

So there you have it – the top reasons you should just say no to those “unofficial” tours of operations and come for a real, behind-the-scenes tour of our operations.
