Organizing the Data

[vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The process of developing a producing well from a gathering of land is long and complex. Often times, planning for the development can begin more than a year out from when any actual construction is set to begin and the processes of pad site development, drilling, completions and production can take several months. This time frame also includes the work of our geologists in identifying target areas for development and for landmen to secure mineral right leases.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]With multiple departments with dozens of employees working together throughout this process, communication becomes vital to ensure everyone is on the same page. To aid in communication both within and between departments, Cabot worked with a company called ecocion to create a database that stores vital information for our employees.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The system, which is called Asset and Compliance Tracking System or ACTS for short, is being developed to house data so that departments can be fully integrated with one another.  So in the future whenever departments need to coordinate together on a project, finding the information will be just a click away and the data can be viewed by multiple parties at the same time. Information that is currently entered into the system includes asset management, parcel management, water resource management and notes on Cabot-landowner relations (such as meetings and work orders).
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]As more data is entered into ACTS from the various Cabot departments, it adds more complexity and layers which in turn results in a more detailed, and ultimately useful, database. Much like the ingredients to an ice cream sundae – cherries, chocolate sauce, ice cream and whipped cream – are good on their own, putting all of the components together results in something even better.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Cabot will continue to find new and more efficient ways to ensure that all of us are as effective in our positions as possible. The ACTS system is just another way to meet and exceed our goals.
