[vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Today, we’d like you to meet Jim Novacek, Facilities Engineering Manager for Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation’s North Region. Jim has an interesting history with Cabot, as he worked with us from 1997 to 2000 and joined us again about a year and a half ago.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]He’s worked in the oil and gas industry for 17 years total and has served six different companies in three different states. Jim has experience in production, transmission, storage and distribution. At Cabot, he manages facility and compliance engineers and facility specialists.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]According to Jim, “the Facilities Engineering Department is responsible for the safe and efficient design and operation of all surface facilities and pipelines that gather and transport gas from our production wells to midstream or transmission pipelines. Specifically this includes Gas Processing Units, Compressors, Dehydration Units and NGL Extraction plants.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]We asked Jim about his work with Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation, and he answered: Q: Where are you from originally? I was born in South Dakota, graduated from high school in Nebraska and spent the majority of my time in between in Iowa.Q: What do you like about your position and working at Cabot? Although I am not a drilling or production engineer, I like working as close to the exploration/production end of the business as possible because I think it is the most exciting and rewarding.Q: What makes Cabot different from other companies you’ve worked with?Cabot does a very good job of managing a lean yet efficient staff of people. They give each individual a high level of responsibility and reward them to a greater degree than any other company for which I have worked for- for a job well done.Q: What do you like about the Susquehanna County community and the people of the region?Though I work in the Pittsburgh office, during the first eight months of my most recent employment with Cabot, I worked in the Susquehanna area two-thirds of the time so I got to know the area quite well. I had never been to that part of the state before and I was very surprised at the number of lakes and by the natural beauty of the area. The contractors that I worked with during this time were mostly from that area of the country and they were professional with an excellent work ethic as well as very cooperative in pulling together to complete the project on schedule. Overall it was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding construction projects I have ever worked on in my career.Q: Anything else you would like to add? This used to be more significant when he was still playing, but I am the older brother of Jay Novacek, the former All-Pro tight end and three-time Super Bowl winner with the Dallas Cowboys.
