[vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Today’s blog post is from Kevin Lynn, Communications for Linde Corporation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]What do you say when picnic attendance jumps from 2,500 to 7,000 in 3 years?  What do you say when people stand in line—35 deep for 4 hours—playing to win prizes at your booth?  What do you say when the company hosting the party is also the major contributor to the expansion of a state-of-the-art health clinic in your region?  If you live in Susquehanna County, PA you say “Thanks Cabot!  Thanks a Million!”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]July 21^st was the 3^rd annual Cabot Oil & Gas Community Picnic at the Harford Fair Grounds.  Linde Corporation was one of many companies on hand who have worked with Cabot.  What a successful day we had!  The picnic was free and fun, with food and drinks that lasted all day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]If you’re from Susquehanna County, this prosperity underfoot is a new sensation.  For Cabot, this is the latest chapter in a national business model which for decades has enriched landowners and positively affected the lives of nearby neighbors and businesses all over the country.  The Cabot picnic in Susquehanna County is a perfect example.  Dozens of businesses doing work for Cabot came out in force to entertain thousands from around the county and beyond.  Cabot’s good at this![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Linde Corporation does a “Spin and Win” wheel each year.  You simply spin our wheel and you WILL win something, be it a T-shirt, tote bag, baseball cap, drink ‘cuzzi, Frisbee, cup, key chain light or pen.  People were invited to get back in line and spin again—and again—and again.  We gave away hundreds of items to lots of happy people.  For us it’s a huge day with a fun benefit: we saw dozens of our shirts worn by fans at the Pocono 400 NASCAR race a couple of weeks later.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image css_animation=”” image=”1269″ border_color=”” img_link_large=”” link=”http://cabotsusq.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/linde.jpg” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The picnic entertains thousands a year, but Cabot is also at the center of a larger movement which will directly impact and improve lives all over Susquehanna County.  Linde is proud to play a small but important role in the new Critical Care Clinic of the Endless Mountains Health System (EMHS).  Quite simply, this multi-million dollar project would not have happened without Cabot’s leadership.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]It happened like this.  First, Cabot started the fund drive with a $1 million contribution.  Then they reached out to companies which had directly benefitted from Cabot’s efforts to extract natural gas from the Marcellus shale.  The fund drive was called Cabot’s Community Match.  Rain for Rent, the Diaz Companies, The Montrose Chocolate and Wine Festival and Linde Corporation were among many groups which donated to the EMHS project.  Sure enough, when community efforts totaled $1 million, Cabot contributed a second million dollars to bring the project home.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image css_animation=”” image=”1270″ border_color=”” img_link_large=”” link=”http://cabotsusq.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/linde2.jpg” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Sooo, back to that question.  What do you say to the company who adds to the quality of your day with a picnic and adds to the quality of your life with a health clinic?  If you’re from Susquehanna County you say, “Thanks a million, Cabot!  In fact, thanks TWO million!!”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
