Today marks the beginning of a new category of WellSaidCabot. The new section will focus on debunking myths and confirming facts about the natural gas and oil industry, also known as:

(HINT: Look at the blog category.)

Okay, the title might have given it away this week, but even Google doesn’t know how to spell frac’ing correctly!
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Who would’ve thought that the Natural Oil and Gas Industry would have it’s own “F-word.” Not only has frac’ing become a controversial topic and practice, but the spelling has become controversial as well.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Originally spelled frac, as it is still appears in the trade press, was more commonly changed to fracking by the mainstream media.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Because there was so much controversy around the process of hydraulic fracturing, the media changed the spelling to fracking to eliminate confusion of the pronunciation of the word. (Upon first glance, frac’ing may look like it rhymes with racing.)
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]When searched on Google, the topic is automatically switched to results for “fracking.”
