Drilling Down: March for Babies

[vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Last weekend, Cabot marched alongside thousands of other supporters in Pittsburgh’s March for Babies. On Sunday, we met on the North Shore to begin a 3.5 mile trek alongside the city’s rivers, across two bridges, through PNC Park and through downtown Pittsburgh.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation’s North Region arrived bright and early to the event with 22 walkers, all of which worked diligently to fundraise prior to the walk. Additionally, 13 Cabot employees and contractors contributed to the cause but were not able to walk.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Jamie Williams, completions technician at Cabot, served as Cabot’s March for Babies team leader because she enjoys volunteering her time and because March for Babies is a cause “that hits close to home.” Her close friend’s child was recently diagnosed with a rare form of liver disease. Jamie has watched her friend take the 22-month-old child to chemotherapy and endless doctors appointments.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]“No child or family should have to go through that type of pain,” Jamie said. “The money that March for Babies receives goes to preventative education, research and finding cures for such diseases.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]She led the team to an unexpected fundraising achievement of $4,475 in Cabot’s first year marching in the annual Pittsburgh walk. Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation made a commitment to match all of its March for Babies team’s fundraising for a total donation of $8,950.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]“We set out with an original goal of $1,500,”Jamie said. “We increased the goal to $2,000, and ended up quadrupling it; I don’t know that anyone expected to raise as much as we did.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Jamie attributed the success of Cabot’s March for Babies participation to the support of Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation’s commitment to match the team’s fundraising.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]“We definitely couldn’t have done it without the support of Cabot,” Jamie said. “I’m proud to be part of a company that cares so much about important causes.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Jamie believes that Cabot set the bar high this year and looks forward to an even greater turnout for the next March for Babies in Pittsburgh. The number of donations from Cabot and our supporters indicate that the March for Babies’ commitment to healthy babies is echoed within the company.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row animation=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Read yesterday’s post for more information and to see photographs of the event.
