This segment highlights the growing number of Pennsylvania residents who are seeking out these education programs specific to the oil and gas industry.

Natural gas production and the energy industry as whole have brought a new economic surge to Pennsylvania. In order to ensure that said growth continues this focus on education must continue as well. According the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, Marcellus Shale related industries now employ upwards of 244,977 people in Pennsylvania. As the video mentioned, there are many more years of opportunity for Pennsylvania and this industry to expand together. According the Natural Gas Alliance by 2035 shale gas is estimated to account for 60 percent of all U.S. natural gas production. For more information about the benefits of Marcellus Shale development visit the Well Said Topics of Interest page.

One local resource that can help is the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains, the organization offers scholarships for people at a variety of academic levels. Specifically for college students there are seven different scholarship programs all of which are donor-advised funds. They even offer scholarships for adult students who are working to pay off outstanding college debt.
